Lymph Drainage Massage

Blood leaves the capillary system to nourish surrounding tissues by exchanging oxygen and nutrients with toxins, proteins, and bacteria.

Eventually, toxins will be metabolized by metabolic organs, and lymphocytes in the lymphatic system will destroy bacteria. Then, blood returns to the capillary system to be delivered back to the heart.

During that process, some blood plasma will not be returned to blood vessels and remains in interstitial spaces.

The lymphatic system is a circulatory system that transports interstitial fluids (lymph) to the heart, which will eventually be mixed with blood.

Due to various pathological processes and the kind of work the lymphatic system does, it tends to become blocked. Those blockages cause fluid retention, edema, and lymphoedema.

Lymph Drainage Massage is a complex of gentle massage techniques performed specifically to support lymph flow in the lymphatic system: uninterrupted flow and healthy function of the lymphatic system leads to a healthy immune system and proper body detoxification.
