What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a cornerstone of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The basic tenant of TCM states that the body's energy must flow freely for optimal health. This energy travels through a network of channels called meridians, which connect various organs and systems.

There are 12 main meridians and 8 extra meridians each associated with specific organs and functions. These meridians have fixed points known as acupuncture points, which practitioners use to influence the body’s energy flow.

Ancient Chinese practices focus on the flow of energy among the body’s organs and between two energy poles: Yin and Yang.

This energy flows through a person’s organs of different elemental natures, which interact with each other based on the theories of Yin & Yang and the 5 Elements.

If there is an imbalance of energy flow, such as deficiency, excess or stagnation, disease occurs.

Preventing the body from having such pathogenic factors is the key to a healthy life.

One of the remedies to keep the human body in balance is the Acupuncture.
